Paddling a canoe is a truly Canadian experience. In this half day introduction you will learn the basics – strokes, techniques, and safety – and go for a shoreline paddle to practice your new found skills. Suitable for beginners and those looking to improve under the guidance of an expert certified instructor.
Canoe and all required safety equipment is provided: lifejackets, paddles, safety kit.
$125/person plus tax based on a minimum of 2 participants.
Most suitable for ages 10+. Youth under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Embark on a scenic adventure at Haliburton Forest & Wildlife Reserve, where you’ll be shuttled to the serene MacDonald Lake in one of our comfortable passenger vans. The short 5-minute ride, guided by one of our experienced drivers, offers plenty of space for both you and your day packs.
Upon arrival, your guide will provide a thorough onshore lesson covering canoe basics, paddling techniques, and essential water safety tips. Then, you’ll set out on a peaceful shoreline paddle, putting your new skills into practice while soaking in the breathtaking beauty of MacDonald Lake.
